Alumni Get Together at OUTback Bowl

There were lots of orange and white parties going on in Tampa during the Vols’ trip to the 2007 OUTback Bowl.

One event was a Tampa Bay Lightning Hockey game with UT alumni sitting in the club seats. Alumni from the Tampa area as well as UT officials attended an enjoyable outing complete with orange and white decorations, a visit from the Lightning mascot, ThunderBug, and a member of the Lightning dance team.

An afternoon reception with Men’s Athletic Director Mike Hamilton was held at the alumni headquarters hotel with more than 100 people enjoying a beautiful Florida day on the outdoor patio.

The Tampa Bay UT Alumni Chapter hosted a New Years event at Boston’s restaurant. With more than 250 orange-clad patrons, the event showed the party spirit of true Vols fans.

The pre-game Big Orange Tailgate Tour event once again proved to be a spectacle with approximately 1,500 orange faithful gathering for “food, fun and Rocky Top.” With good food and beverages, a live DJ, door prizes, comments from National Alumni President Debbie Diddle and UT Knoxville Chancellor Loren Crabtree, and an appearance by the UT Pride of the Southland Marching Band, cheerleaders, and Smokey, a good time was had by all!
